Scottish Episcopal Church

It is the autonomous Anglican province in Scotland, distinct from the established Church of Scotland and led by the Primus of the Scottish Episcopal Church.

The Scottish Episcopal Church traces its separate existence to 1689, when the Church of Scotland was settled as Presbyterian and the Episcopalian clergy were disestablished, after which the church endured penal laws in the eighteenth century. It is a province of the Anglican Communion with its own Scottish Liturgy and Code of Canons.
