Elim Pentecostal Church

The Elim Pentecostal Church is distinct as a British Pentecostal denomination founded in Ireland by the evangelist George Jeffreys, beginning with the Elim Evangelistic Band in 1915.

George Jeffreys founded the movement in Monaghan, Ireland, in 1915, and his healing campaigns in the 1920s planted many congregations across Britain. The church takes its name from Elim, the oasis in Exodus where the Israelites found twelve wells and seventy palm trees. Its churches are held together by a national conference and a national leadership team, and it remains one of the main historic Pentecostal denominations in the United Kingdom and Ireland.
