The radical Reformation's heirs: believer's baptism, discipleship, nonviolence, and the separated community, carried by Mennonites, Amish, Hutterites, and Brethren.
The Anabaptists were the Reformation's radical wing, rebaptizing adults and refusing the sword and the oath, and they paid for it in martyrdom from both Catholic and Protestant magistrates. Their descendants keep the pattern in communities that range from the Old Order Amish to the modern Mennonite conferences.
