A promised Ruler shall come from Bethlehem

The passage
“But you, O Bethlehem Ephrathah, who are too little to be among the clans of Judah, from you shall come forth for me one who is to be ruler in Israel, whose coming forth is from of old, from ancient days.” The smallest of towns is named as the birthplace of the ruler whose origins are eternal.
Where it stands
Micah prophesied to Judah in the days of Jotham, Ahaz, and Hezekiah. This verse is the one the chief priests and scribes quote to Herod in Matthew 2 when he asks where the Christ is to be born, and it sends the magi to Bethlehem.
