Christ will be Resurrected in “3” days
Tagged: Christian
The passage
Jesus had driven the traders from the Temple, and the authorities demanded a sign for doing it. His answer was the sign: “Destroy this temple, and in three days I will raise it up.” John explains what the disciples only understood later, that He was speaking about the temple of His body, and that when He was raised from the dead they remembered the saying and believed.
Where it stands
John 2 places the cleansing of the Temple at the opening of Jesus's public ministry, where the Synoptic Gospels place it at the end. The saying about the three days runs ahead of the whole Gospel toward the resurrection.
