Unity in the Body of Christ
Tagged: Christian
The passage
Paul urges the church to walk in a manner worthy of its calling, with all humility and gentleness, with patience, bearing with one another in love, eager to maintain the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace. The ground of the unity is then counted: one body and one Spirit, one Lord, one faith, one baptism.
Where it stands
Ephesians 4 opens the practical half of the letter. The first three chapters state what God has done; this chapter begins what the church does in answer, and its first concern is that the body hold together.
