“Persevere in the Faith”
Tagged: Christian
The passage
Paul tells the Colossians that Christ has reconciled them to present them holy and blameless before God, if indeed they continue in the faith, stable and steadfast, not shifting from the hope of the gospel that they heard.
Where it stands
Colossians 1 carries the letter's great hymn to Christ and Paul's prayer for the church. Verse 23 closes that opening movement with the condition it names: the reconciled life is kept by continuing in the faith.
