Latter Day Saint Movement

The restoration founded by Joseph Smith: an open canon with the Book of Mormon, a restored priesthood, and temples, whose largest body is The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

The Latter Day Saint movement began with Joseph Smith's First Vision and the publication of the Book of Mormon in 1830. The movement self-identifies as Christian and as a restoration of the original church of Jesus Christ; how other traditions classify it is a separate question, which the site's assessment apparatus handles and this placement does not decide.
