Digambara

The sky-clad branch, whose monks renounce clothing itself and which holds that the canon of the Shvetambaras is lost and that women must be reborn male to be liberated.

Digambara Jainism is the branch of the south and of the ancient line of Bhadrabahu. Its monks' nudity is the visible sign of its reading of renunciation, and its scholars composed a literature of their own where the old canon, on their account, had perished.
