In 1934 Guy Ballard, writing as Godfré Ray King, publishes Unveiled Mysteries, his account of meeting the ascended master Saint Germain on Mount Shasta. The book launches the I AM Activity, the first of the ascended-master movements that carry Theosophy's masters into American mass religion, and a seedbed of the later New Age.
