Sahba, trained in Tehran, won the commission for the Delhi House of Worship as a young architect and gave the Bahá'í world its most recognized building: twenty-seven marble petals, nine pools, one silent hall.

He went on to direct the Mount Carmel projects at Haifa, where the terraced gardens climbing to the Shrine of the Báb — the pictured work — completed the faith's world center landscape in 2001.
